    Default Jet boat dual throttle

I have a 1979 CVX 20 that I would to add a foot throttle to. But, I don't want to get rid of my hand throttle. I know foot throttles can be dangerous if the spring breaks plus pulling someone is easier with a hand throttle. I am looking at a Land and Sea foot throttle which has 2 cable outlets. I'm hoping to run one of those cables to my hand throttle. Does anyone know if this is possible or how to do it? I have attached photos of the foot throttle. The hand throttle is Morse.

Wow never herd of a jet boat with a hand throttle? I would think it would be mere dangerous pulling-playing or racing around with a hand throttle, does it act the same way as a foot throttle deal and if you let go it will come back down to a idle "via spring"?

A lot of your bigger day cruiser with tall seats use a combination hand throttle/forward reverse set up like a typical OD or wacker boat.

Doing redundant controls is common on a lot of bigger boats and other equipment, but I don't remember seeing it done in a smaller jet boat. You may have to do some research on this one. See how the boats with multiple control centers integrate them. I don't now of a ready made kit for what you're trying to do though, maybe time for some creativity.

There's a guy on here with a CVX 20 with foot and hand throttles. Not sure how he had it rigged? Hopefully he sees this and chimes in. Been about 5 years since I met him on the lake.

The new boat I just got has a hand throttle as well. I got a foot pedal and plan to ditch the hand. I haven't driven a hand throttle boat in a long time and never in a jet.

Sure would be nice to have a redundant hand throttle when the spring in the pedal breaks.

its really a non-issue. the spring in the foot pedal is a push type. even if it breaks theres enough there to idle it down. Also running a quality throttle return spring to close the carb is good. I normally setup my foot pedal to be stiff so I don't end up chopping the throttle in crappy water.

As far as the return spring breaking, wouldn't it be the same issues with either throttle control method? I would think a dual control it's only complicating things and making the possibility of a stock throttle even more probable?

When you're in foot mode, how do you control the bucket without giving it gas? Is there a lockout?
