Default I need advise On a daytona

1st I found a a 19 ft Daytona setup for a wacker is the conversion to a jet real technical I have all the time in the world to do it but never even set an intake

2nd fire damage on fiberglass is this a huge thing to fix I have a limited knowledge of fiberglass but alot of time to do it

This is more than likely the only way I will get in one of these hulls atleast for a long time alot of knowledge here if you guy can help I would appreciate it

Talk to Tom at JBP, I'm pretty sure they did a whacker to jet conversion not that long ago.

    Good luck.

[IMG][/IMG]Tom did mine, I think it depends somewhat on the center sponson, is it a flat or round keel. I've heard/been told a flat keel you'll be somewhat limited on what kind of hp you can throw at it (loading wise).

Now that the jet is in, is your flat keel or dose it still have a little bit of round keel to it. Iv got a 18ft cat that was built for a outboard and I bought it to put a jet in it and it looks just like yours did. My outer sponsons have a little bit of flat to them as well before angleing upwerd.I allso wasnt sure if the center sponsen needed to be droped a litle.

If you look at the pic on the right close you can see mine's rounded. I think I've heard Greg in the past say that some daytona's(19's) ...... that were born outboards either had no center sponson or that the center one was raised somewhat. Don't qoute me on that, I could be wrong, I don't want to mis quote the guru.

I have a 19' Daytona that was born (and still) and O/B. It has a flat keel that is even with the outer sponsons. I have seen a 19' Daytona O/B that had no center sponson. It was a rare bird (one of only a few) and loved to fly.

the ones with no center sponson were only made between 82 and 84 i believe and they are usually a super light layup robdog has one but that boat was once a jet idk how but ti was once a jet so anything possible apparently
