Default Fast Open bow Jet ?

I have been running a STV Euro outboard for years, but am considering getting an 21' open bow jet boat. I am looking for some guidance on which hulls have the most performance potential, and which hulls to avoid. Something that I could add power and pump mods to. Something that would do 80 mph + with the right setup.
Since I have been running an outboard that cruises at 100 +, I know that there is really not family a 21' open bow jet boat in the same performance class.

The market looks to have nice looking boats from Ultra, Carrera, Howard, Laveycraft, Eliminator, Essex, Conquest, Commander, ect
I am not looking at new boats just stuff from the 90's or early 2000s seem to fit my budget.

I have lots of lakes and rivers in my area that would be foolish to run the STV in.

if you got stock in Exxon/chevron,just bolt on two of those 3.3 Johnrudes to a 22' Daytona open-bow for hours of family fun
BTW,you ever bolt 32 pitch on the Euro and let here eat??Guy in New York (helmet) had one of those rolling hard (126mph) years ago with 2.5 merc drag

Ultras are really nice and can take a good amount of power.. It would probably take at least 600-650hp to get something like that to do more than 80+ mph. Or you can try to find a open bow gullwing. Much easier to go fast

I got the worked 32 ET that Wayne Tripp brought his STV Euro to 130 mph with. Never ran it yet. No need to go that fast, but I got more than enough power to do it.

Now time to find an open bow family boat to do the local lake with stumps and rocky beaches. I just don't seem to see much with performance potential.

what 21' jet open bow can run good with some hp and mods ?

The gullwings are too small. I want something with more freeboard and an enclosed motor with sun pad. I got to have a place for my beautiful woman to lay out on :-)

Try a cole ss 20.5. Mine has a open bow, covered engine, 454 12jg. Will do 64 with half tank, 2 people, 400hp 715 vac carb. Handles great. Keeps my two teen age daughters and wife happy. Never thought I would like this boat as much as I do. I wonder what a few more horses would do.

If there are any 21' Cobra's in your area check them out. I had one and it's the style you're looking for.

Who was the guy that converted the 21 daytona to an open bow. That turned out ALOT better than I ever would have imagined.
