    Default 1988 Placecraft

Hey guys! So I just picked up this 1988 Placecraft. Guy told me it used to be an old fueler capsule boat back in the day. Does anyone recognize this boat? Here is the HIN #PCJ00156F888. I can see where they reconstructed the dash and underneath it still has the old cut out for the capsule. It has Calgo steering and a Berkeley 'R' pump in it and the intake is something I haven't seen before. It looks like a low pro style Berkeley intake. Casting number is H-2780 and it has a different style loader in it. Boat also had the side gunnels filled in with foam which used to go from bulkhead to transom but the rear was gutted out to put side tanks in it. I want to take the rest of the foam out and clean it up but man its a bitch to get out. Any ideas on a quick and easy way to remove the spray foam? Also does anyone know anything about the H-2780 intake? Any info or help would be greatly appreciated! Here are a couple pics.

    Thanks, Nick

very nice! I would really try to get a somewhat accurate weight of the bare hull. also, tom Peterson might know the history of it as he worked on pretty much all of them with Hamilton back then.

Thank you! I was told it weighs 450lbs. it's pretty darn light, I can pick up the ass end by the pump with pretty much one hand

That boat would be a very close match to mine on the deck where the capsule come ties into it. My boat looks to be painted over the gel coat but I have that same color stripes in mine that I think are gel and not painted.hmmmmmm
