    Default Intake Manifolds

I need some help from you guys, currently I have a 468BBC, right at 550HP in my Hallett. It's got a Weiand TR with a single 950 Holley on it, it runs good but I've heard conflicting things on this intake setup. Would I be better served with a Victor Jr, or Dart or some similar single plane intake? Not looking to be the fastest on the water, reliability and performance both are what I'm after.
    Thanks in advance.

Wilson manifolds excelent. Expensive due to the port work, but worth it IMO:

But for your application, a Dart would be an excellent choice:

Most single tr's have fuel distribution issues, mine burned 5 and 7 lean, before I bought the boat the prev. owner burnt #7"s primary tube right off the flange. How do all the plugs look? Sleeper had some dyno #'s back on HB where they took off a single tr and put on a single plane and picked up some #'s.

I'll check the plugs next time I take it out. just out of curiosity, why would the TR lean out #5 & #7?

IMO, it should show up on a time slip but I doubt he'd feel the difference.

an old school single carb tunnel ram has the worst air/fuel distribution of all styles of intake manifolds out there.

in reality ... 1, 2, 7 & 8 would have the leanest readings while 2, 3, 4 & 5 are directly below and would have a more direct flow pattern.

a newer single plane intake has much better distribution and therefore would have better efficiency
