    Default Big River people

    Jetboats

    Give me some feedback here.

I was a devout foosball player in my younger years. I played every chance I got and consequently got pretty good. About 10 years ago I bought a pretty nice table. Solid steel rods, heavy duty and plays real nice. My girlfriend decided that the table needs to be replaced with a couple papasan chairs and I'm debating whether I should donate it to Big River and whether or not anybody would play it if I took it over there and set it up for them.

Not sure they (meaning Big River) would even want the thing if nobody is going to use it. They've already got two old pool tables that nobody plays.

I could probably get a few bucks for it by selling it (was a $450 table when I bought it), but I'd just as soon we get some use out of it. Read between the lines here and you'll see I'd like to find some worthy opponents and play some rather than sell it for next to nothing.

Anybody play? Should I just sell the thing?

Funny. My living room was a game room 10 years ago when I was single. Nice solid slate pool table, foosball, dart board, tunes, bar, video games....... Now it looks like ...........well.........like a living room.

Oh well. I'll be 51 on December 28th. I guess it's time to grow up.......finally.

In my single days I had upwards of 5 bikes (dirt and street) in the kitchen at any one time. Then came the first wife. There went the bikes. There went the first wife. Now I have managed to put all those things in the car room, and let the new (20 years?) wife have the kitchen.
    Moral? Build a new room!

Funny how that works out, huh? It always seems to happen when a woman gets into the mix.

Is there alot of people hanging out where it would go (I'm assuming snack bar, Ive never been there)? Usually when I'm at the river, it's all about hangin out at the river.

    Early Happy BDay

Same same. Had a Harley in the kitchen, and a Honda 250 elsinore on the sun porch. What the hell does a single guy need with a kitchen anyway?

Yeah, I'm all about the water too. Sometimes you find yourself waiting around for it to come up in the morning though. Also evenings (after dark) would work. Foosball and alocohol are a good mix in my book.

Wow Dan I didnt know you played. I played for along time and was pretty damn good as well. Me and my buddy would play tourneys at the local bar back then and no one could beat us 2 out of 3. That would be cool to have a table out at the river. If you decide to take it out there let me know. We can keep a good supply of playing balls on hand so they are avaliable when the big dogs want to get a game going. I hade a full roller bearing steel rodded professional table for many years. Had to dump it to make some room. I sold it to a church for about what i paid for it $900 bones back then. It was a super fast table.

That is so damned funny. The whole time I was typing that, I kept thinking......I'll bet Futz plays.

This table is no where near the quality of the one you had, but still not too bad.

Back in the day (my late teens to late twenties) Foos was the game. Even more popular than pool. Bar rule was you kept a table until someone could beat you. Sometimes that could be hours, or all night in the instances when everything was clicking (especially teams). Never played any kind of structured tournament. We always played for beerzezezz and the challenger always paid for the game. On a good night you could have hours of entertainment and be drunker than shit for next to nothing.

There were some really excellent players back then. Even more importantly.......great teams. Some players might only be so so by themselves, but with their favorite partner........unstoppable. Teams were intuitive and knew what each other was going to do long before they did it.
Shit would be moving so fast it would be difficult to watch unless you were actually in the game.

Might just have to do this even if we ended up be the only ones playing.

Happy almost bday man. I might be old enough to be your dad, but I still feel 31. Some call it immature.......I call it...........well immature. So what.

Look at my signature. And I'm a little older than you.
I may be growing older, but I refuse to grow up!
