    Default World Finals PHOTOS!

Since I was just a youngster I've been browsing this forum and Hotboat back in the day. The jet section always had the best photos of all the races. It was a good way to stay motivated and in-tune with whats going on in our sport. Obviously (as most have been recently pointing out) there has been a decline in that sort of coverage and activity on the site..... So gawd damn it, here's to the youngsters, and old geezers, that make this sport what we all love!!!

Capsule boat on the left of me didn't lift the rope and was too close to me upon launch. He blamed it on my scoop being to tall. Yes it is tall, but it also passed tech and this was the first time at Firebird I've ever had a problem. It ripped the scoop right off the boat. Bad deal for both of us. Destroyed my scoop, destroyed part of his capsule. Nothing is stated in the rule book that a boat next up to run must lift the rope but it's common courtesy to do so. In 2015 they are talking about marking the rope at the outside of the lane to prevent this kind of thing happening in the future, giving the boat that is going to run the full width of the lane. Both of us got a rerun sunday morning which raised a few eyebrows to say the least. In the end it didn't matter. He broke out on his rerun pass. My MSD box took a crap that run so the qualifying positions held for first round. As you know that rope doesn't give much, rope deflector or not, if it's held down in the way it was it won't matter what deflector you use. The first round of eliminations sunday we ran a new scoop, a new msd box, and ran a 6.003 and lost... cut a .12 light. Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Thanks to Robb Burklin for the loaner scoop! TRG finished the other scoop a couple months ago, just figured I'd change over winter. Guess I have to now...
