Bottom blue print and pump setup within 350 miles of Ithaca NY.
I have a 1991 Kachina 18.5 jet boat with a Dominator 12s pump. I am have a water leak around where the pump intake meets the hull, I have already removed the pump from the hull but the intake is still in the hull. I would like to have this fixed and while the intake is out of the boat have the bottom checked, it would porpoise hard at high speeds on flat water. The pump works fine but at high speeds I can't keep a fresh supply of water to it and pull slacks off. The engine is already out on the stand and the interior is out also, I am looking for someone within 350 miles of Ithaca NY. who is reputable to do this. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I am not gonna be much help referral wise.....I am in utah. Outta curiosity ....how much hp ya throwin at it....and how fast ya trying to go??
Never heard of a 80+ mph Kachina.....doesnt mean there isnt one.
Might wanna post some pics of your set up......pump....shoe,ect.
I am running a 472ci BBF making 500hp+ with a stock Dominator 12s pump. The engine will turn 6,000rpm quick and easy and hit the limiter in the DUI ignition. It has a stock intake/rock grate and a place diverter, the engine runs well I now just need to get the pump dialed into the engine and get the bottom straight and keep a fresh supply of water to it. It is all apart now in the garage ready to do the next steps.
