    Default Delta Jet Boaters

I've been planning a trip in my head from Lakeville Marina (Petaluma CA) to Tower Park. This trip would require crossing San Pablo bay and traveling down the Carquinez Strait.

Have any jet boaters here ever attempted to boat on the San Pablo Bay/SF Bay or the Carquinez Strait in a low profile jet boat? Was it a good/bad experience? Any tips for boating this type of water in a low-pro jet?

am I going to try and talk you out of it? no, I've already told you my experiences.
If you're willing to lose your boat, have at it and take pictures along the way.

I don't think I would take a jet out on the bay. Go look at Ron's photo album at http://www.performanceboats.com//album.php?albumid=397 He's in a 1987 Searay Pachanga, 32' twin 7.4 Alphas. I've seen this boat in person and it's big!!

I wouldn't do it anymore either. I guess now that I'm older, I'm a bit wiser

or bigger! we had waves breaking over the bow of a houseboat we took from San Mateo to just above Old Town Sac.

Freighters going up the channel pose a pretty good problem also.

Here's a link to Google maps-
    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=s&utm_...a&utm_term=map
type in black point california in the search. When the map pops up, pan out so you can see where Highway 12 crosses the Delta, it'll be a little southwest of Rio Vista. Zoom in to follow the channel and you can pretty much see for yourself.
His destination is Terminous, if you zoom in, you can see Tower Park Marina.

It might sound silly, but survival type wetsuits can come in handy in 49* water
we have used them in our crab fishing ventures outta Bodega Bay
