Default How does a boat get its number?

I was wondering on race boats and river race boats that have numbers on the side and on the scoop. Where do they come up with the numbers?

You pick them. Nothing special to it. Or are you asking how everyone individually came up with their numbers?

Yes. How did you guys come up with your numbers. And if it were a race boat did the sanctioned event come up with the number for you? Thanks for the input.

I.Q. X penis length in mm's, divided by the engine's compression ratio, plus the number of team members, divided again by how much it cost to get the boat ready to race, LOL

    This aught to be fun

When you register online w/ APBA you pick your #. I would imagine if the number is taken it will kick it back to you for another selection.

Speaking of #'s, are you guys running decals or have them painted on? If decals, where is a good site to get them? I'm looking to put some on my boat but just want decals for the time being until I repaint the whole thing.

That's easy as long as the compression ratio is real low and you have an I.Q. of say, - 1, otherwise I guess there woulb be a "-" in front of the number.
