Default To jet or not to: Ultra 23' Deck Boat

I was eyeballing the 23' Ultra deck boat which had a jet and was wondering if a jet was enough for the boat's overall size. Weight-wise, it is only 200 pounds heavier than the 21' deck boat which in reality is me as the driver. Now, having the 23' loaded up with 4 adults and a couple of kids would be another story.

Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder!

Dan Hercules would be a good one to ask. His TPR deck is a 21, but being the first one laid up is probably as heavy as the 23 you're looking at. I believe he's in the 70's with 735 hp. Reckon it all depends on what it is you're looking to do.

John D has one with a jet. Right now he has about 750hp in it. I think it runs well for being a bigger boat.

O.K. big guy. That would be in the 70's...........otherwise it would start with an 8, 9 etc

I'm not one to cast around fluffed numbers. I knew you were damned close to 80.

Hey! Why so angry looking here? Between you and Tom, you guys look like you're ready to kick the world's ass.

I believe he is mad because Paul is sitting in his usual "Keg" location, and the wife said "Hell NO!" to nurturing the keg in the back seat!
Am i accurate in my thoughts Dan?

Accually, That was the first time I took my mufflers off. I was listening to it. Sounded like it was missing to me. It was fine.

There is no way my wife was on keg duty, She had that the night before. She was a bit hung over/ still drunk sat morn.

    And Dan,

I was not correcting, but 70's is a large gap. I am gonna have to kick the wife out of the boat so I can claim 80's! LOL

    Lol.

BTW I gotta say, Herc drank 2-3 times more times than I did at the bars that w/e, and his BAC was still half of mine (Herc has a brethalyzer).

And so...I think he was looking around for the keg.

You're used to those mufflers. Without 'em, it sounds like a nice crisp exhaust note to me.

Herc HULL is supposed to tip the scales at a whopping 1000 pounds. 79+ mph with him and his wife....if my bony ass was driving that boat by myself, mid 80's no problem...possibly more.

    Hope that helps,
