Default New interior - Thoughts on who to work with in OC

I have read quite a few post on here about different shops to work with. A post in the "how to section" has the same hull as me and has done basically what i am trying to do (See link below). I have talked to A-1 in Fullerton, Martinez marine in corona, and west coast marine. I am getting a very big range in the quotes (i know you get what you pay for) but wanted to get other people opinions on what direction i should head. The gap in price is about $2k. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

I have had A1 do 2 of my boats and I would not recommend them. The quality is not on par with Martinez or West Coast, and they have NEVER completed anywhere NEAR on time. The Commander you linked was done by West Coast and the workmanship is superb, but you will pay for it. I've seen Martinez' work and looked to be on par with West Coast at a better price. Next boat will go to Martinez as I run river boats and am not looking for a "show" interior but want better workmanship than I've gotten from A1.

I had socal upholstery redo my eliminator 207 this past september. Its all marine grade vinyl and i am really happy with it,I paid 2200 to have it redone. The wood and foam was in good shape so it kept the price down.Any wood work or bad foam the price will shoot up real fast.

He originally told me about three weeks since i had a river trip coming up he called me about a week and a half later saying i could come pick it up its done. When i saw his number on my phone at that time i was nervous to pick it up and thinking oh oh there may be wood damage or similar. But over all good communication and great service.

It's heavy, but it's built hell for stout. The most weight is the engine cover..... it's a beast but elephants can dance on it. I'll be redoing it since the 545 I'm building won't fit under it as-is, so might as well go with lighter wood (3/4" in it now!) and save a bunch of weight.
One thing you need to know about WCMI..... Danny says he will build you a "custom" interior, but in my way of thinking it's "semi-custom". He has standard designs and layouts and will charge additional for changes. I wanted to change the stripe design, but it would have been additional. Cupholders additional. Resin wash the floor additional. While some of these charges are justifiable, for a "custom" interior I don't believe I should be upsold as these upcharges add up quickly. Again, no issue whatsoever with the quality, just letting you know what to expect.

Here is my Spectra 20 I just bought. Interior was redone by WCMI before I bought it. The guy I bought it from said Danny charged him $6k complete. I will say the quality is second to none. All seats and cushions come apart for easy cleaning. Integrated cooler in bench, side panels in cockpit and engine room. All made to last. Have owned a few boats, West Coast is well worth the extra $$$ imo.

My interior from WCMI. Excellent workmanship, but you can see by the similarities between the 2 boats here the "semi-custom" approach.

I like the descending width on the stripes. Looks good.
Here's the last one he did for us.
