    Default Crusader/Carrera ?????

First of all new to the site so What's up to everyone.....

Looking to buy my first boat and it would be purchased from a friend of mine. He has bought another boat and wants to sell his old one.

The boat is a 1980 20.5 Carrera Elite Day Cruiser w/full roller 468 BB

He said the hull was possibly a Crusader because the two owners split up and one took the mold for this boat but did not know which one....

Can an anyone enlighten me on the situation or offer an opinion on the boat in general.....

Thanks in advace for the info. Hope to be a regular here real soon

    Jason

They're good boats. I have an open-bow '94 20.5 w/ built 496 and it's blast on the river or the lake.

There are a handful of other 20.5 owners here on the boards with lots of useful information about them.

Go into the Greg Shoemaker section and ask Greg, or maybe he'll post up here, I know he was friends with them ... he would know. I guess it would be what year the hull was though if they split. I don't know.

What year is it? (edit ... didn't see they year above, sorry)

No pics as of yet. The boat is stored about 30 miles from my house.

    Default 20.5

Stan and Dennis were partners in Classic Crusader. Around the late 70's Dennis and Stan parted ways. Stan took the name Crusader and dennis started Carrera. This was about the same time I started GS Marine. It's probably is a boat that I could of rigged for Dennis. The biggest difference was the deck and the bottom was chanced to a radius keel and Stan stuck with the delta and eventually changed his mold to a radius keel.Your boat was built in Anaheim Ca. back in the days when there was a lot of boat builders in Anaheim.

Greg, I have a 1991 Carrera eclipse 20.5 ft. Is there anything you can tell me about that build time?? Just wondering. Thanks in advance!! Mike
