Default new owner of 1971 19' Bieselmeyer Jet boat

I have won on a auction a 1971 Jet boat, comes with a brand new 550HP 460 Ford, and Berkley jet drive. I am very new to this arena and to say I am ignorant of the "jetboat subject" is saying it nicely. I got the boat with a trailer that has lifetime tags. From the pictures I have seen, everything is in perfect condition. Zero rips or tears and all gel coat looks flawless. I really have no idea what to be looking for when the boat arrives here @ the house in 5 days. Can you members offer any advice? Thank you, Nick

There are some things that should be checked out before it is ever fired up or put on the water. Give me a call if you like and I'll run through some of them. 417-858-8616

I wish I had enough free time, to call Duane @ hi-performance.com.

I have gone over the engine and the Berk jetdrive. I have 220 hrs on the jet drive and boat hull. It appears to me the jetdrive was rebuilt @ same time the engine was swapped out, with the brand new Edelbrock Marine Performance 460 crate engine.

Can anyone direct me to the location of the fuel shutoff valves, or do these boats even have fuel shutoffs? I have dual SS gas tanks, and dual batteries, but no fuel shut offs that I can find.. Thank you, Levi

being i had a biesmeyer, the two tanks should just T somewhere on the transom into one fuel line with a splitter that is electric like on a motorhome possibly. there should be a checkball fitting on the top of the tanks to keep the fuel in prime on some boats. i dont believe the have actual manual shutoffs. simple enough right? doesnt need a phonecall as thats why you came here in the first place. tons of marinas in florida if you want to talk on the phone to get top secret information. sounds like a nice boat. pictures would be nice.

Well, today was the first day I had to go over the boat.. All I can say is I got taken. The owner claimed this and that, turns out the only truth is it is a true 1971 Biesmeyer. Everything I have gone over is totally ruined. I was told this boat was "River ready"...What a bunch of BS. I am so pissed right now. I do not mind the repairs, I do not like being lied to, that is so wrong on so many levels. The owner was so slick, that all 11 pictures I was given, was just far enough away, you have a hard time seeing all details..

This engine was dry. What I mean is, Carb is dry, fuel lines and tanks. are all SS and use AN fittings from, Earls. Electric fuel pump and a Summit fuel regulator, which broke in my hand today, broke right n half. They did a rattle can paint job on the engine and its terrible looking to me. All the wires and the bolts/fastners are all loose..Some wires are put on ass backwards. The only issue that bothers me is this, the intake plate appears to be attached with silicon, where the bolts should be, I can see abouty 12 bolts, however the leading edge of the plate has two bolts and I see only oner bolt and the other has been silicone and the glass around that bolt hole is cracked bad. I am thinking, this is just the beginning of my problems.

I paid 5600 total.. seems cheap
