    Default Who's still boating?

It was 13 yesterday (55F) so we went for a blast down the Red Deer River below the dam to see how far it was open and cure some winter blues.

Awesome day on the water and got some funny video of what happened when we found "the end" . You know I'll be posting it when its processed.

For now a few pics. These were at the start and one stop BEFORE Brent got a soaker haha

    Heres the video as promised......

Wow Talk about dedication. Some guys were whining that the Tom Papp deal might be too cold.

Yeah, but no fair. They've got heaters in those boats. I think if it were me, I'd
be drinking some hard stuff though. Not beerzezezz.

I remember a winter camping trip in the glorious UP of Michigan (temps about -20 F).
We stupidly took a keg of beer and it kept freezing in the hose of the tapper. You
had to keep it flowing, or it would freeze and you'd have to thaw it by the fire to get
it going again. We found it easier (more fun) to keep it flowing and everyone got pretty
damned shit faced. The hard stuff don't freeze.

No heater in my boat Dan, Im hardcore! haha

(Im sure Brent would have liked one tho! We found the end of the river unexpectedly and jumped over one 'berg, splashed into a pool then couldnt stop before sliding up onto the ice. Had a good laugh and figured it wouldnt be "too" hard to push back to another hole we could get going in and then jump back out to open water. Of course Brent went thru at one point almost to the waist just to keep things interesting, sadly no video footage of that part )

Was just a gorgeous day on the water to break the monotony of the temps we normally have this time of year, -40 F to 5 F typically

Tested a couple of boats in 20 degree weather this week. Didn't stay out but a few minutes though.
