Probley make about 300 RPM and could gain 3-5 MPH! Might even see more MPH! RPM will drop for sure! WT

One would have to have more information on the peak HP rpm of the engine to correctly answer this question. The answer given could be right for one engine and not another. More info needed.

I hate to hi jack the thread but I've also been wanting to ask a question on impellers.. Have no idea what impeller is in my boat at the moment, but I do know will a mild 350sbc ( tow/rv cam intake 750 holley ) I can't spin the motor past 3300.. Can someone point me in the direction I should be going.. besides putting a different motor in.. Which is in the works but not this year.. Looking at building a blown 383sbc for it.. Just for the record this is my first jet and i'm still pretty green with everything..

All you can really do is remove the impeller, and do some measurements to see what cut it is.

An A impeller is in the vicinity of 130HP, a C is about 93HP to spin those RPM.

Small-blocks lacking the low RPM torque of the big boys generally run relatively small cuts, B/C's, C's, C/D's, D's.

Sure thing @ 3300 you are nowhere near your power. MIGHT have a "AA" in it, needing over 150HP to turn at that speed.
    Same 150HP on a C-cut is about 3,900RPM.
IMO you have way too big of an impeller, and are "behind" the power utilization curve.
Impeller demanding more power than you can put out, before you can get to the power you can put out.
Seen it happen on here where a guy's 718HP 502 would only spin 4-grand, same impeller my nearly stock 454 was turning 4,800.
Bad combo of parts making for bad power production curve, and got "behind" the impeller demand.
    His 700+HP was @ 7,000.
    You'll need to make aprox. 325HP to spin a C-cut to 5-grand. 450 for an "A" cut.

Same cuts 6-grand is about 570HP and 780HP away.

Try to aim as much power between 5 and 6-grand as you can, then, cut the impeller to match your max. available power.

Hope that gives you some kind of basis to start thinking on.
