Question Any Marine Engine Builders here????

I have a 460 getting a set of .040 over h535cp pistons. Box says minimum clearance is .0015

    Should I run a .0025 or .0030 clearance or???
This is for a 450ish hp bbf in an 18' Taylor with a JE pump and aluminum impeller, thru transom log manifolds.

this question will be well answered in the GN7dyno section. A little use of the search function should yield some positive results plus the responses from the many very knowlegeful peeps over there. Good luck with your project.

I must have missed that section, which would explain the lack of search results i had come up with before posting. thanks

Hypers are a bad idea in any jet over 400 HP, they tend to end up as gravel in the oil pan! If you insist on using them anyway, set them at .003 clearance. Call me for more info. TIMM 623-877-8553 TIMINATOR
