Default Leaky oil drain hose pulling the motor

Since I've been working on the boat and I have the interior out I've been cleaning the bilge but I noticed oil keeps leaking from the back of the pan. there's a hose extension on it that you poke through the drain plug and drain the oil out the back. I believe the hose adapter is dripping and leaking. so if i loosen the motor and disconnect it from the universal joint and don't mess with any settings can I just pull it out fix the oil leak and put it back in or is there an alignment issue? Or what kinds of things do I need to look for or make sure of? Assuming it's lined up correctly now

That should be easy in a jet boat, if it's working now, it should go right back in with no issues.
