    Default NJBA Membership Q

Can one run both a bracket class and river racer? The membership form has a spot for annual fee and river racer. If i check annual fee does that mean i cannot run river racer? they are both the same price.

If you sign up as a Member to run in competition you can run a category and a bracket, if you sign up as a River Racer, you run river racer, no trophy or prize money. You cannot run bracket and river racer, it's either or. Hope this helps.

I would suggest running river racer for a race or two to get the hang of everything and how the system works. I think that for RR you only have to pay ($100) per weekend plus a yearly membership ($150) which is a great deal. You will most likely get two runs in on saturday and two runs on sunday as river racer. Quite often you will get more as time provides, so you will always want to be ready to go because they could call you at anytime to fill spaces in the program. I think that my first weekend I in river racer I got about 6 passes.

Shaun,Thanks for trying us out at the NJBA.The above post are right. If you go with the RIVER RACER the club will get you at least 4 runs per weekend. It depends on time if you can get more than that.I think that Sunday you will get more runs than Sat.For any one new we also have class reps.We have jet, flat, hydro reps to help anyone thats new get started with us.We have a bunch of good people that race with us and will help you if you ask.

Last year the reps were HYDRO was Mike Fry / Flat was Steve Sharp and Ken Simons / Jet was Tom Bandy and Mark R.My guess is that this will be the same for this year. The idea is to help anyone new feel more at ease at the track and to have fun with us and not feel out of place.

My only fear would be Bandy crushing somebody's skull that gets sideways with him.

Shaun, once you step out of RR into competition you cannot go back. RR is alot of fun and its the way to go at first but if you fit into any type of competition, thats where the fun starts. I just want to warn you its addicting.

Thats the thing i have no idea where i fit. If i ran RR first i guess i could see which class i'm close to or belong in. I'm already excited and i havnt even competed yet! Lets hope i get my deal back together in time!
