Theres a Young Lady around either CA or AZ that does this as a vocation, I spoke to her sometime back for a quote theres also a guy on RDs (Dougy I think) that has hauled boats for a lot of the MFGs and for me I don't have either of their numbers handy , I have shipped several boats , one all the way to the east coast, upper mid west etc , always OTR and always had good success obviously trailer condition before it leaves is key .. Beware ! I used U-Ship , this is what happened to me ...
went thru them and found guy that met my price expectations shipping my boat from Virginia to Texas ..arranged everything at Uship got his direct number and spoke to him several times and before I made up my mind he showed me all credentials and insurance .
Well boat gets here and passenger front sponson is dinged in about an inch ...he has no idea how it happened and was like that before he picked it up , I told him bullshit and showed him pics from when he was picking it up and hooking to trailer .....seller snapped pics and it was perfect with ass end of his truck in pic ! I say fine give me your ins info and they can fix it ...well his insurance was cancelled as soon as he got the job to haul it. He just showed policy to me then called them back and cancelled it ...I called Uship and they said nothing they could do and they would still have to pay him on my dime ...fuck them ..try and find a reputable individual or make damn sure you research the folks doing the hauling !

I had one shipped in from Kansas to SE Oklahoma . Wasn't to bad on the price $ 500.00 but the shipper called and told me that the other guy hadn't showed upyet and he was charging me a$ 1.00 a min for waiting for him . I told him what ever just get it here . Long story short he called me back and told me that he was about 2 hrs out . I told hm that I was deducting a 1.00 a min for waiting on him . Anyways he gotto town and I had tolead himin to my work place to unload it and noticed his old ass homemade goose neck trailer had a busted wheel . He charged me $ 50.00 for waiting and using the winch on the trailer . So I welded up his wheel and charged him the $ 50.00 back . Just watch out who you use .....

I had my CP shipped from Michigan to So-Cal, I had my Up's and downs with the whole deal.
Before the boat left Michigan I had it shrink-ed wrapped just in case the driver went through some bad weather, this worked out good as he did indeed had to through a snow storm and also his dam exhaust on his 2500 dodge diesel truck left black shit all down the side of the boat, but no big deal as i just took the wrap off and it was fine, If i did not wrap it I would have been asking for some $$$ back from the driver as I sure it would have took some time to get it off. (Mind you I bought this boat with 6.5 total hrs on the whole boat, it was in NEW condition, 9.9 out of 10)
Another issue was the shipper showed up with a 6'' or 8'' lifted Dodge Diesel 2500, his drop hitch was about a 3'' drop, my trailer was basically riding on the back tires, luckily the gentleman I bought the boat from called me and informed me of the situation, I thanked him and proceeded to call the shipper and told him he needs to get the correct drop hitch. Shipper left, bought the correct hitch then went back and grabbed the boat.

Couple things to look for in a Driver-Shipper on U-Ship...
A-Feedback on the driver from past customers, almost all customers will leave a comment back on their experience with the shipper.
B-number of years working for U-ship and number of years in the industry.
C-What are they using to tow your boat with. A truck and a hitch, a flatbed, enclosed trailer, Big Rig, ect ect.
D- Spend the extra $ and register with U-ship to get ALOT more bids on the item you plan on shipping. You can place a shipping inquiry on U-ship for free but most of the shippers do not respond to them as they think your not serious or not ready to ship your item, for me I noticed once I paid the extra $ to register on U-ship I had 10xs the amount of shippers wanting my business.

Hope this helps and please keep i mind I used U-ship 5 yrs ago, haven't been on there sense so I do not know if anything has changed.

    Trevor...

He had A+ reviews on about 60-70 loads with Uship , only real negative is he had a tire blowout hauling a load and rubber hit car he was towing ...figured hey shit happens , not really his fault .
But he must have been in trouble cause truck he showed me to make haul was new Dodge Dually , he showed up in a 1990's Ford F-150 that was beat all to hell , no insurance ...etc..etc. I filed a claim against him on Uship but nothing ever came of it and figured I'd spend more time and money perusing it than what it was worth
