Question Cutting an Agressor AA impeller

I've got an Agressor AA impeller in my Bubbledeck Cougar. Very mild 460 turns it at about 4300rpm

Is it possible to cut it down a little?

How high should I spin that stock 460?

    Thanks Guys,

    CR.

i spun a unbalanced 11.5 to 1 460 to 6000rpms all the time in my taylor sj, but i had eagle i beams, good rod bolts. you should be safe turnin it 5500-5700 all day, bbf's are great motors. have the impellor cut to a ab-cut, that otta get ya closer and pick up some mph. keep clearences tight and you won't lose too much holeshot.

Dare to be different, if it turns out great you can claim you planned it that way.

yes you can cut the aggressor impellor down in size, one issue is that the wear ring area is thin and this is the area to be careful in turning, i have seen some impellors {any brand} ruined by grabbing then in the lathe by the wear ring area, always put the impellor on a true mandrel or known straight shaft to turn it , just my opinion, on the back side that changes the blade size i have not found any issues in cutting them down in size. on the ford rpm issue you will find many opinions i fell you are getting close to max rpm now if durability is your first concern, it will live a lot longer at 43 than 5k.

Your stock setup is likely similar to my 454 was, and about 6-grand would float valves (did, once).

The advice on getting it cut is sound.

Ran my stock 454 4800+ on a Berk A 25 years before overhauling it.

Oh, and the stock engines ARE BALANCED, unlike IMPATIENT'S allusion that they are not.

Just not as tightly as most would like for performance.
