Both true. They started out about the same time I did and it was sad to see them close. I have all the carpet, rubrail, ski tows, and many of the castings they made, which we will be making some of soon.

L&L bought out Specialty Marine who had the, or one of, the custom windshield business' around. I hear that someone again is doing the windshield thing under the Specialty name, but that might just be a rumor. Steve Macelroy (sp) and another guy who's name I can't think of, Bob someone, owned Specialty. Steve's got a great collection of old hot rod stuff on display at the NHRA museum in Pomona. The brothers, Barry and, well I can't remember his name either, owned L&L. Barry was the field guy, the one that came to the shops, the other was an office kind of guy. Never saw him much.

By the way, back in the day before L&L owned them, Specialty's stuff was the bottom of the barrel when it came to quality and fit. Cheap and quick service but others like Wayne Earl, who's still around, were much better.

I just remembered that Steve had an old Tahiti that I had been looking for, still am I guess, and he cut the forward portion of the deck off and a put on this ugly cabin kind of thing that looked like an outhouse and made a fishing boat out of it. Fitting end to an semi ugly boat to begin with.
