mph data collection using pressure transducers??

# Thread: mph data collection using pressure transducers??

1. ## mph data collection using pressure transducers??

I seem to remember reading you guys using quikdata were using transducers for mph data collection. Are you guys just comparing gps readings to the voltage output or is there a mph transducer that is already set up volts vs mph ???

2.

3. I don't really know the answer to your question. But if you're recording pressure in psig, you can convert that to MPH in a spreadsheet post-run:

V = [(148.6 * P)^0.5]/1.467

V = MPH
P = psig

This assumes 60 deg F water, which you probably won't be running in. But it'll be close.

4. Duane @ High Tech has a chart.

because nobody's ever asked? because in reality, not that many people in here would make any use of it? because if someone does buy a data system with a p/e transducer for speed, the person that sells the thing to 'em gives him a chart? because i'd have to go take it out of my binder, scan the thing, save as jpg, save it to the host site, then post from the host to here? that's a lot of time and effort when nobody's asked for it, and I got naps to take, cigars to smoke, etc., etc...

Or take a pic with your phone and skip all the bs. Lol

Sorry Bob, couldn't pass it up. You don't give us many opportunities.

lol, well, if this was facebook that might work. I could take a pic of it with my phone as long as it's not important to be able to read it...

12. pretty easy to do with the qwik data 2 or race pack. There is a math function channel that you can set up. That uses the PSI given then enter the equation you want to use to plot on a graph as a channel and it's done. No more calculating, the computer will do it for you.
