    Default Berk R shaft

I have a berk R shaft that Im considering using. It has some wear from the packing that Id like to have fixed. I was told that it needs to be hard chrome plated. Anyone know how much/how thick the hard chrome can be applied? Who does this type of work and how much does it generally cost?

    Thanks!

I thought chroming metal weakened it, maybe your talking about a different kind of chrome.

According to Jack @ MPD this is the fix for a hardened shaft.

Measured the shaft. Section just ahead of the packing(towards the bearing) measures 1.50. Worn areas are looking to be 1.489 or so.
