    Default Alternator Installation Pictures

I just put the new 460 back in my 76 Spectra and cannot for the life of me remember how the alternator was mounted on the left side of the motor. Does anyone have any pictures of the alternator setup on their 460 jet? Preferably a Hardin Marine setup would be ideal, that's what mine was originally. Thanks.

It doesnt matter what side of the engine if that is what you were getting at. Alternators don't care which direction they turn

Yeah, was just hoping someone had a picture of the front of their engine. Mine was mounted on the left, with the tensioner coming off the motor mount and I think the alternator was mounted to the head with a spacer.

My CVX-20 460 had the Alternator mounted on the lower left side.....The mount was horrible bread-boarded peice of crap, so while getting the engine rebuilt I created a mount out of 1/2" aluminum....It wasn't that hard- I used a small drill press and a disc sander. Noone makes a good billet bracket for that location. Sorry I don't have a better pic- maybe I'll go out and see if I can get a better one......
