newer design is the 1 with the rideplate built in, the old school thin 1's were the reverse bucket diggin sob's

Dare to be different, if it turns out great you can claim you planned it that way.

I have a newer diverter. Sent it to Place to be machined. The price was very reasonable as I recall.

the length of the sleeve is 1.28 the od of the sleeve is 3.4835 i personally cut the hole depth 1.25 and stay close to the place measurement for a good tight fit. put a set screw in to wedge the sleeve in.

see if you can't get the aggressor or amt type ftn's, they're longer and do a better job imo

and... there should be approximately a .075 step for the insert to butt up to. so, the "upstream" end of the nozzle (toward the pump) should be bored to at least 3.33 or so.

but.. the nozzle should be machined to fit standard ftn's. it won't care if the inserts are longer - most all mine are 1.5", although i've run some 1.75, 2". it's nicer if they all interchange.

Make sure you spend the time to indicate it in properly before you cut it. It took me some time to get it just right otherwise the step will be larger on one side then the other.

don't know if amt/place are interchangeable or not, as i don't know if i've ever seen an "amt" insert. some older nozzles were bored out to a larger diameter for one reason or another. but if they're standardized to a dimension, easier to borrow something different to try..
