the shank part sheered in half. i think the bolt was overtightened and stretched.

it beat it up good. the bulkhead fitting for the -8 dump line has some sweet spider cracks all around it now and there's a 1/2 inch wide by 1/8 inch deep chunk of fiberglass missing out of the top of the transom.

so on the one hand i'm glad i didnt lose the 1200 dollar pop off in the lake. but on the other hand if it had just blown clean off i wouldn't have a likely 1000 dollar repair bill for the transom.

    Default pop off

needs restraints so you don't lose that sucker.

3/8 #8 bolts I hope. We upgraded to 7/16 and have had no problems since.

    Default ??

???? for the racers....What does the "pop-off-valve" do? I noticed that there used on race boats and had no clue what they do... I'm guessing something to do with the water flow and how it exits the boat.
