That's because the Jet-A-Way makes the motor/pump package about 4 1/2-5 inches longer. Most people who run one usually have their pumps set back.

Your question kind of confusing. I have a Jet-a-way. I moved the engine 4" forward. Did not want to do a setback on the pump.

Do you have room to move the engine forward?? Many questions!! Hull, seating, expectations, engine, performane desires and what do you want????

The Jet-A-way is a great addition!!!

pump is already set back stringers are cut down because it had a back seat so didnt want to move motor rails forward but i may have to extend stringers to accomodate jetaway going without is not an option so any ideas would be great thanks

The lack of fore/aft spline "slippage" creates binding and generates heat in the coupler splines , as we speak we replacing a motor (thrust) and jet (shaft and brg failure) as a result of a "solid (single ujoint) set up" I'll post up pics tommorow Tom

flyer, i know guys who run lencos on the river, I think that is what your asking here? Its not the best choice but will work, your engine mounts need to be very accurate though or it will create alot of heat in the splines. The pump and jet-drive must be aligned correctly. Ive seen the situation your in before with the notched stringers, tough thing to deal with.

What kind of boating are you going to be doing? Long distance or just hotrodding?

Took these pics for ya yesterday as the subject was still up here on the boards , Just for the sake of discussion and as an example this is a "ill operating" single ujoint deal someone had come up with on this customers rig to replace what should have been a short (6 3/4) Rockwell DL , in this case It took out the DL, the pump shaft splines, the front bearing and likely the Crank thrust. Tom

    compared to new
