850's should work just fine. My brother ran 2 650's on his 496 and it made 710 @ 6100. Think he was under carbed but it still hit the number and ran like a raped ape.

So, would a single 1050 dominator still be under? Seems like that would be a nice single-carb for it. Two 650s at 1300 total should be nice and crisp in the mid-range and still produce big on top end? Just a thought/question. I have not ran any big-inch carbed motors. More curiosity than anything.

"they" say that eventhough when you add up the cfms, it works totally different than , a regular intake,, the motor is crisp, but it feels like it just runs out of gas on the top end, i have good pressure, i just sems like it has alot more , it just needs more fuel,

With .620" lift, is this a hydraulic roller cam ?

What rpm's are you referring to when you say " feels like it runs out of gas on the top end" ?

Reason why digging into this is possible valvetrain 'fuss'. Meaning, not operating in control. Lifter and/or spring related. What are your as set up spring psi's - closed, open ? What lifters ? Are your retainers steel or Ti ? What oil ? What pan ? Do you fill pan all the way full or ? What is your rocker ratio ?

BTW: Bigger carbs can help make more power, but trying to see if you have a tune issue (carb fuel metering, ignition, or etc) or valvetrain issue. Good way to check to see if your carbs are causing a lot of restriction to airflow is to do a vacuum check just under a carb at WOT and top rpm. The vacuum is a measurement of the restriction.

now Im hitting 6400 i wouldnt say i have a target i just want what i can get, ya know. im runnign low 80s, and just like everyone iwould like a little more, it seems to me that the 650s would be alittle small, i was just wondering if there is any one who had a similar set up , and had gone through this before

I am running two 850 Holleys on my 468. It does have more cam than yours. It seems to be getting plenty of fuel.
