    Default How does a 1972 Hondo Jet ride???

    Has anyone had experience with a 72 hondo, it's a full stringer rig with berk c I'm thinking it might be a little heavy??

    This is not the gull wing bottom, it has a v.

    It's just like that with a stock c pump, no motor, no loader etc. Set up for bbc. I'm looking for something to handle some chop, and not ride nose high, etc.

    Well, I don't think its going to handle more than 2-3' chop very well. Its a "shallow V" They don't cut too deep.
    Also its a low freeboard boat (Very low on the water) so I wouldn't expect it to ride nose high.
    The thing is- a place diverter controls the way you plane, and ride.
    Divert up- and you can expect to porpoise a lot with the rooster tail all the way up.

    I'm looking for some actual experience with this boat, I have had a Hondo gullwing, I have a Hondo v drive, I guess I'm just curious if there are any nightmare stories like on the gullwing. No disrespect, jet boating 35 years.
