Default 2017 NJBA April Race - Lake Ming Bakersfield

    April 24, 2017
    Hello People
A few highlights from the April 2017 NJBA race.
The race day started out as usual but there was disaster in the first qualifying run for the 149 Tsunami Blown Gas Jet boat. The boat was equipped with a new Berkeley style bowl that exploded at launch. (A large hole and several large cracks on the outlet side of bowl).
So the race against time began.
I left the lake and went home to get the replacement bowls to complete the race. (Old Berkeley 12JG bowl prep by Cyclone Speed & Marine). Upon return to the lake my team and I missed the NJBA Winners awards banquet to repair the 149 Tsunami in order to finish the race. Repair and adjustments were completed around 9pm Saturday night.
Jim Brock was successful in getting us entered as slow boat in Unblown Fuel Jet and Quick Eliminator (6.o Index) for the eliminations on Sunday races.
The results were the 149 Tsunami won first place in the five boat field for Unblown Fuel Jet category.

For you guys out there who race with other organizations, I hope they are member friendly like our club, the best in the world, NJBA.
I want to thank my support team for their professionalism and quick resolutions to what ever happens at all races we attend/enter.

Willis..I heard that the new PCF class had 13 boats entered. Maybe the jets need a PCJ class ( Dial-in). Where are all jets ???

Ron there were many jet boats in all classes. In 6.0 the jet boats ran 6.005 and 6.007 for second and 3rd place in the wind hold. The jet boats kick ass all over. There are plenty of jets all over the place. Why are you asking where are all the jets at? Maybe you should show up with something? and quit bitching.

Buddy mine and I went to Ming over the weekend, had a great time for our first visit. Thought the entire weekend was very well run, entry was very reasonable, food was great for a race facility, and spectators had a great choice of viewing locations. Enjoyed the hospitality of 519's family and his crew, and will definitely attend future events.

Joe...Not bitchin. Was taking about SJ, CJ, MJ, PGJ, UBFJ, BGJ, BAJ not brackets.A PCJ class would be nice to run the jets all together like the flats are doing.
