    Default Help with pump questions???

Hey guys,i am a newbie to jet boats,ok here goes75 hallett ,i built a new motor back in june bbc454 w/stroker kit now over 500ci.10-1 all forged internals, big roller cam, merlin heads, tunnel ram w/dual holley 650 double pumper etc,i am a tech so the motor is right. When i gps the boat it goes [email protected] 6800rpm,i know that is too high,so i asked this question a while back& the reply was get a bigger impellar, but there is no way to tell what is in there,so i put it off till now, pulled off the bowl& it looks brand new & it is marked A,so now what to do isnt A the biggest ???Also before i take any thing apart how do you check that wear ring???The boat runs really strong on top end,but you cant get on it out of the hole it will just over rev.Sorry for the long post but wanted to get all the info i could on here thanks michael

How wet is it running in the water? Get somebody to take some pics while you're driving it to show ya how much of the boat is in the water.

No they make an AA, and there are even some bigger ones from there, but i'd call Duane at HTP and talk to him, like fleetimus said.

Just because its stamped A doesnt mean its an A.

Sounds like your not getting any water to the pump which explains the excessive RPM. Id be looking at getting some blueprint work done on the jet-drive and get some water to the pump one way or another. Your results may surprise you.

Are you running a shoe or rideplate? What do you have for a loader?

    X2! Not loaded!
6800 RPM and only 77MPH? You have got the motor now the pump work begins! Do you know the power of the motor? Because this will help with setup! Do you know when the pump was rebuilt or if it has been? Duane can help you out! One bit of advice get with one person on pump build and stay with them to reach your goals! My .02 WT
