    Default berkley jet question

i have a spectra 20 with a 12jc and a place diverter. attached to a 460 ford. can i put a droop snoop on the pump and will it help the hull. i see the 12jc bowl may need to be changed to accept this. any ideas. it has a loader and unknown impeller

You need to get a JG bowl or some other type of split bowl to run the droop or any other type of bolt on hardware. No idea on whether or not it will help the hull though. Good luck.

Based on that particular hull design, weight and size I don't belive you would find a droop of great advantage, If you were to consider this you would need to swap out the bowl for a "split bowl" (12 j G,B,A, or Turbine, Dom, Agg... Tom

X2, That boat is built like a battleship and is pretty heavy, I think a droop will just raise the speed at which it will fall off of plane and have too much bowlift during take off...

What are you trying to achieve?

its a cruiser and thats all. im just trying to make it as efficient as it can be with a fairly stock 460. bolts out of the hole and runs ok but i think i could loose some low end to put on top end

The trick IMHO to getting a cruiser to work well is to move as much water as you can and weight distribution.
If those are right, it should be close to a 60 MPH boat, if you want more than that it takes way more horsepower, which in turn takes more money, which breaks more stuff, costing more...well you get the picture I'm sure
Does yours have a set of trim planes? Our Spectra 20 responded very well with a set of 12" Bennets. (1979 Spectra 20, 455 Olds, Place and a 12 JCAA with a non blocking loader).

well engine is new but carb was all messed up. i just bought a new 750 for it. i noticed the ignition is a ford dist with a box and probly could use upgrade. all fuel lines are being changed and got new fuel pump. it has a bone stock on it. boat would only turn 4k on the rpm and was quite sloww if felt like it had more but wasnt there. engine is out and going in this week
