    Default 1974 southwind 18ft V

Ideas on the value of a southwind 18ft V. Completely redone from trailer to scoop tongue to pump. 1/4 stringer boat All capped, straightened bottom with full set back pump by Roy Meirsch ride plate, shoe hydraulic diverter. New paint, glass work upholstery(2 seater fiberglass seats) all new gauges, steering and carpet. Tandem axle trailer with new bunks bearings and carpet. 440 chevrolet tunnel ram engine. PLEASE no smart ass comments, my son put alot into building his first boat and needs to sell it. M

Just curious how did the Southwind ride with the set-back pump? When Tommy (TPR) set my Southwind up he believed it wasn't a good idea to set-back the pump. I have also read that the Southwinds like a 1/8 hook in the bottom at the transom.

I have had 3 southwinds 2 18 v 1 tunnel dragster. the 2 18 v's. The first I did with the 18s was flip them and straighten out the bottoms then set the pumps back, 1 I went back 4" the second I went all the way back and install a rocker a head of the intake. Same as my son did with his. In all cases hook was removed. Also in all cases it free'd up the hulls in the water and picked the nose up out of the water. with all that being said Joe now owns the last one and you can ask him how the hull works. Any more questions feel free to P.M. me. Mark
