    I HAVE A 915 H/P BBC WITH A 1050 HOLLEY DOMINATOR THAT IS GOING TO BE CONVERTED TO E-85 MY QUESTION I REALLY WANT TO TO STAY WITH A MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP WHICH IS THE https://www.holley.com/products/fuel...arts/12-454-20 WILL I BE ALL RIGHT WITH THIS WILL THE E-85 HURT THE PUMP THE GUY THAT IS DOING THE CARB SAYS I HAVE TO GO ELECTRIC UGGGG AND WANTS TO BE GET THIS PUMP HE SAYS PUMPING E-85 YOU NEED TO HAVE A FUEL SYSTEM FOR A 1200 H/P MOTOR https://www.product-engineering.net/...cing-fuel-pump I DONT CARE ABOUT ABOUT THE $$$ BUT DONT WANT TO HAVE ANY ISSUES RUN THE BOAT HARD AND HAVE LOTS OF FUN !!!     Pay attention to your carb guy. He's correct, and that would be a minimum.
    The reason is, your engine is a 950 horsepower motor. Fuel pumps that give an approximate horsepower limit provide it for gasoline. E85 requires about 30% more fuel, by volume.
    950 hp X 1.30 = 1235 equivalant. If you were to have a roots blower, add another 20%.

    If your engine is not covered, I don't know that the USCG pump would be necessary.

    Yep,, racepump, but not sure they are made any longer. I know some guys had some problems with them.

    I would call George down at Clay Smith and ask his opinion. Fuel System - Fuel Pumps - Clay Smith Cams

    The other thing you could do is something like I used to run on my turbocharged ski race boat, mechanical and electric pumps in parallel, with two one way check valves. I usually would only run the electric pump if I was pulling a fast skier or running hard.

    Have the PE pump with the wiring Harness, Hardly used $275.00 plus shipping

    i agree with you calling clay smith ! its ashame i the race pump looks like it was a good design and talked to a few ppl said some were good and few bad .....

    The 6 check valve block mounted Clay Smith pump will do the job. With a bypass regulator. If you prefer belt drive the Ron's gold will work also.

    I hate depending on electric pumps
