I know that this is not exactly a "Jetboat" question.....I had my second leaf spring failure on my CVX-20 jet trailer......Had to get a flatbed to get it home, and then there was a traffic jam....and also, it took almost 2 hours to get the trailer off the flatbed because the right-hand wheel was rubbing on the fender and would not turn.
The really bad part of this is I had taken my friend's paraplegic son out to "Show him how fun boating was".......The ride home......kind of sucked all the fun out of the trip!
Anyway, do any of you have any knowledge of trailer/leaf springs and/or manufacturers? I don't want to have to carry a spare leaf spring!
Sorry to read about your efforts to do a good thing.
When I had my shop I always looked at the trailer also. Here in the New Orleans area I noticed that after a short period the leaf springs were no longer “live” because they were rusted together and no longer worked. If the springs are kept oiled that seemed to help. There are several on line trailer suppliers and any local marine suppliers have them.
The best trailer suspension is the TOR FLEX style and with a little work can be adopted to any trailer. I know that some Glaston boats came with a dedicated trailer, but they can be also re fitted with a TOR FLEX style with disc brakes.
