    Default Dual Gas tank ?

So my new boat has dual tanks but no fuel selector switch like ive had on boats in the past. So w this set up does that mean if one tank has less fuel in it and runs dry then im esentially dead in the water?

If you can reach the fuel lines or see them use a pair of vice grips small ones will do to pinch the line when you run out in one tank loosen them up and put on the empty tank line and goood to go.Other wise use even amount of fuel line and it should suck evenly too.

IMO buy a switch for it wheter its a manual or electric.

Just make sure the lines are the same size & length. The tanks will drain approximately the same amount. Depending on fuel line size(in the tank) and power, you may need to pull from both, rendering the valve useless.

I have a manual ball valve on both of my tanks for exactly this reason. That way once one side runs dry I can shut that side off.

However I mostly run it 1 tank at a time since I have the ability to.

I currently have a T that draws equally from both tanks simultaneously. But I've heard bad things about this set up, I've heard that you can get air bubble in your lines from the flow crashing into eachother at the T. I've heard that they never do draw equally, I've heard that the T is a flow restricter ect....

So becuase of this, I am going to a Y with a ball valve on each side so I can draw from one tank at a time. I know it's a hassle but if you think about it....it makes sense.

As for the vice grip idea....I am not interested in putting any vice grips on my fuel lines and running the risk of a leak. I figure a Y block from JEGS and two ball valves cost me $50 so it's worth it to me.

    Just my $0.02

I have a ball valve on mine, and it when you select one tank, it eliminates the other.

this is how mine is done.I didnt realize it was so dirty

I dont see any reason to run one tank at a time, espeacially (sp) if you only have one sending unit.. the tanks should drain equally like said before the same lenght hose

Hmmm never looked at it like that(only needed 1 valve/ why didn't I think of that)....I have a valve for each tank,I run on 1 tank at a time, that way I know when it's time to turn around.
