Default "Energized" or non energized jacuzzi?

Ok, I finally got some pics of the my "phallus jet drive" (cuz its pink!). some people said they could tell just from pics if it was energized or not. It does have a place diverter (as you can see in the pics), so all you smart guys out there, especially Tom with JBP tell me what I am dealin with here. Thanks guys. And once again, I just have to say this is the best jet forum on the net.

Well before i grew up and got a Berkely jet I had my WJ pump energized and it only used the Jacuzzi intake and housing if i remember right. Had a different bowl/nozzle and wow what a difference. yours looks stock to me

When you get it energized you only retain the suction housing and transom adapter.

Ok, thats enough of the queer stuff, its not a race boat, just a family jet. And by the way, real men wear pink.

If you want to get the most out of a jacuzzi, give it to Jack @ MPD. Problem with a energizer kit is you still have a jacuzzi suction & intake(not that they are bad) and all the energizer parts are still stock-no matter how much money you spend on it, it wont be a berk. You will be dollars ahead(and faster) if you trick out the jacuzzi because you dont have to spend 1600 bucks to buy the parts you already have.

If you are considering the energizer, spend the cash on the jacuzzi bowl and impeller. The mods will produce a drastic increase in performance and you'll be able to run a berk droop & diverter. Been there, done that. The WJ is a solid pump. Anyone who tells you to go with the energizer, either doesn't know, or is making money off the sale.

If you want a berk pump, take the jacuzzi out and put one in.(not that hard)

My old WJ-got with the program.

I have been told by people who have run Jacuzzi pumps since back in the day, that they are GREAT for family boats. Seems the only real problem with them is cavitation at higher speeds like above 65 mph or so.... They told me it "can" be a problem. But if your boat only runs in the 50-60mph range then you don't even need to worry about it. I have another boat, it has a YJ, and I plan on keeping it just the way it is, no energizer kit. Now I have also been told that if you want to go "fast" like beyond 70mph you will not get there with a Jacuzzi.... But again, a family boat, just enjoy it, don't worry about spending major dollars on an energizer kit unless you have some problem with the way it performs now or want to go fast, or just have a bunch of money to spend and feel the need to spend it....

Again, misinformation. Boat pictured above was a triple digit boat. You wont go fast with the YJ-I agree.

The main problem with the Jacuzzi is the bowl. The cast in nozzle limits flow severely. Having it cut off and flowing the bowl(by someone who knows how to make them work) is the key. After that the pump responds similarly to mods as other mixed flow pumps will.

Sorry for the incorrect information. So a Jacuzzi WJ is great, even without an energizer kit? Even for higher top speed? Or does it have to be energized to do decent...?

The YJ is what I was mainly referring to, it works, but is not a fast pump. But for a family boat it works fine, is what I have been told. Just won't go fast....

WJ has flaws, they are easily overcome. Point is, the money spent on an energizer kit is better spent on massaging the parts you already have. Like I said before, if someone tells you any different, they dont know or have something to gain by you buying a kit. The pump will propel a boat beyond 100mph with the right preparation.
