Put a pump in a boat that has 6" of setback on the transom (it had a wacker on it)and this looks like the best way.

From what I know(damn little) an insert is the wrong answer. You should have an intake set instead. That way a shoe and a ride plate(loader, ect) can be an option for ya. When in doubt hit up Tom @ JBP , he can tell you your options. Congrats on the outboard disposal BTW My boat was orig. an i/o, then semi-rigged as an outboard....I saved it.lol Or I should say Tom helped me save it.

If you're gonna go through all the trouble, put a non insert pump in it.

Yep, standard pump is much better way to go about it, best of luck on it.

Hey Tom, Can you email me a few of those pics? I loved that boat. I still can't get the misses to get in another boat. It looks better as a jet.

Six, try 7. 3 on the rear bench, and four in the back to back buckets!!! I got rid of it do to family, some thing about flight, speed. I bet that thing hauls the mail since Tom made it a jet.
It took me a floor jack, a engine hoist to change the trailer bunks. The hoist was used because of the reach, it cleared the trailer when I pulled it forward!!
Tom did an awsome job!! This is before,
