Default Does anyone know this hull??

OK guys. After multiple posts aking for advice on my boat; and finding that I need an energizer kit (Jacuzzi YJ), a big block, a paint job and a lot of incidental work (oh yeah, it's taking on water now); I have decided to start over. This time I am going to do it right.

I have found a boat that I like the looks of. It needs carpet and I don't like the seats but that is a minor expense.

I want to know if this is a good setup. I do not know the boat manufacturer. The Hull ID is FLZS2267L492. It has a 454 and a Berkley pump.

    What do you guys think?

what are you looking to do and what is your budget?

    also, where are you located?

Are you looking for a 50mph ski boat or a 90mph river/lake hot rod?

From the looks of it, that hull isn't going to be a real fast boat. Wrong hull design. Nothing wrong with that hull, but just not built for performance.

If you post up what you are looking to do and where you are located, members here will most likely assist you with obtaining your ultimate goal.

If I were to buy that hull & carpet had never been installed, I wouldn't install any ... most speed boats dont have carpet. (but mine does)

I'm looking for a 70+mph boat. I don't need to go 90. It would be fun of course. I just want to beat that damn bass boat that keeps passing me on the river. I don't know that I really have a budget. I'm just looking for a solid platform to start. If it takes me 5 years to get there, I'm ok with that. I just realized that the boat i have is not a good starting point.

Oh and Alabama is home. I travel for work so I am currently in Indiana. I am home every 6 weeks. My budget to get a good boat is around $6,000.00. After that it will be built a little at a time.

Something else I noticed is that a floor mount gas pedal??? in a full stringer boat! That would mean that it is screwed stright to the hull!
Tras_h, That is a nice boat but you can do better! Keep looking you will be glad you did! WT

Ok. I will take your word for it. I made the mistake of not asking people before I bought the last one. I regretted it almost immediately. Thank you!!

That boat has a false floor glassed in it right @ the seats. Same basic hull as the old nordic. Mine ran in the 80's with alot of work and it plowed through the rough stuff and would pump dance with the diverter all the way up. It was a blast to drive @ Havasu before M TV came and focked up the joint.

That hull will get you to your goal.

You can get a pretty nice boat for the $6k range now-a-days. There were a couple Eliminator Bubble Decks in the boat spam section here recently.

I don't know if that would be my first choice within that price range. I would look for a Gullwing or Bubble Deck w/o engine 1st. You might have to make a trip out this way (Southwest) but with gas prices down, there is no better time to make a 3 day trip.

    Good luck
