Hey Dan wazzup! Mark here from A.E.E. Believe me you dont want to see the old pics I have cause they will bring tears to a glass eye of how the parker strip and Havafew were back in the 60's and 70's. I have a video of old 8mm edited and put on vhs of mid-week at Big Bend and sking from the dam to london bridge and not another boat in sight and going back in disneyland canyon (as it was known back then ) and nobody around and on the weekends maybe a handfull of boats. THOSE WERE THE DAYS. M
Talk about a sausage barge. Damn do we look gay in the first picture. However still would like to have that Rogers back and the glasses. I was going through a boat trader about 5 years ago and saw the boat for sale same AZ numbers. I called to purchase it and lost out by a day. So if any sees it for sale I am interested.
Also have been on ebay looking for the same glasses.
And Dan that was not the 90s. That first picture must be about '88. I was still skinny. Football must have just ended. LOL
no jet skis and the biggest boat was a 21 footer and we used to bitch about the wakes from them
THOSE were the days! If I had the computer set-up to post a video and pics believe me I would. My first trip to the parker strip was back in 1962 at big bend and then we shifted to polinesian village, which was the first floating bar and dance floor over the water. Back then if you got by 8 a.m you could ski to the dyke and back and be in the smooth both ways. That was behind a 1958 Regatta outboard with a flying scott 65 horse clamp on. Then we shifted to havasu and stayed at black meadows when the 5 mph zone was out from the point to the island. I actualy was at the channel when they were dredging for the london bridge, When BIG ED paid a but load of money to ship the bridge over and have it reassembled to create what now is the nautical inn and the so called village. Actually the Nautical was there before the bridge. I think Me and my g/f at the time were the first to streak under the bridge one year later, butt naked and laughing the whole way! THOSE WERE THE DAYS. M
Yup! That was the deal. Worst deal I ever made. Should have kept it. Fiancee asked me to sell it. Got pitched out a few months before the sale, got bruised up a bit but that was all. Driver error.
I loved that boat. Mark hooked it in Parker. He was hammer down and the throttle cable came loose or broke, not too sure. He was holding on so tight it bent the steering wheel. The other guy in the boat got thrown around a little, but everybody was ok. I think he finally sold it around 2001 or 2002
