    Default jacuzzi to berkley???????

I want to take the jacuzzi off my southwind and put a berkley I have on it. How tough is the project as far as fabricating ? the berk looks bigger than the jacuzzi am I going to have to cut or add fiberglass???? Thanks for the input in advance.

I am pretty sure if you buy the energizer kit, it allows you to use the Berkeley parts. The only thing you keep is the Jacuzzi intake so you don't have to do any fiberglass mods period.

Though it's been a while since I discussed this very thing with a couple shops, I have 2 boats, one is a 74 Sleekcraft, it has a Jacuzzi, the other is an unknown retitled late 70's hull with a dominator pump. The thing is I am pretty sure the only reason you would need to change pumps to get more performance is if you have a YJ pump. If you have a WJ pump I think you are good and the WJ is a good pump, no real gain switching to a berkeley. The YJ with an Energizer kit I think basically turns your whole pump, other than the intake housing, into a berkeley pump.

As far as changing the intakes, they are different and lots of work is required to the fiberglass as far as I know/remember from talking to those shop a couple years ago.

I may be wrong on some things but I am sure someone will chime in and correct me if so.

Tom is a great guy. Busy lately, but great.

Is your Jacuzzi a WJ or YJ?

I was looking an the same swap on my 74 miller. Got the WJ.
Looked at the berk site, they still have the cut out instructions if you are going in the stock postion. For stock as far as the cut out it goes off the angle of the transom. On my miller all I have to do is cut the hole longer to the rear, fill in the bolt holes, and mabey fill about half an inch on the bottom of the cut out on the transom.

    Default yj

yj intakes are wider than berks.
i have seen a thread on how to do this. didnt look fun to me. you have to fill the entire intake hole, then cut the smaller berk size hole. good luck
