    Default berkeley pump question

I have a jc pump in my boat, it is at my buddys place right now getting rebuilt and I wont have it back until next week. I have alot of other work to do such as finishing up the rail mounts. I borrowed a jg pump from my cousin for mock up to locate the motor and drill the holes. Are the jc and jg housings similar enough to do that or should I just wait until I get mine back? thanks.

the only difference between the 2 is the bowl. The C bowl is a 1 piece unit whereas the G is a 2 piece. Here are a couple of pictures so you can see the difference.

    JG-

    JC-

There are many C bowl pumps out there where people have changed to the G bowl. The G bowl just gives you more options on what to do with the pump ie: droops, snoots, wedges.

    Why?
Not to doubt you, just trying to understand. Aren't the bowls the same up to
where the JG 's nozzle or droop bolt on?

The suction housings, don't have an absolute standard for bolt pattern, or let me rephrase that, if you want perfect alignment use the one you want to run. The holes can vari, as much a 1/4 hole, from housing to housing.
