    Default Fire at Fishers landing

For those who may not be at the CP Dealio, I just go a call from my sister in law and there is a fairly large fire very near our place on the plateau in fishers. I am told that it is burning in the lagoon by the point where rivercook dave has his dock and Neal electrics dock is. It has not come over into the park yet but there are palm trees burnung on the upper edge of the cliff. I am told that fire works may have sparked the fire.

On our street only Tre and Kelly one of our neighbors stayed hosing down the houses. The lagoon burned as well as several docks. it burnes all the way around swede hill to the back side of Fishers plateau. No homes were lost but Tre says that about 3 pontoon boats burned down. He has a couple what looks like cigerette burns on the seats from the embers. It was a crazy night from what I hear. I am sure someone will post up on monday the full story.

Here is a picture from down catfish toward the river.

Where the flames are is where I usually park the truck and boat.

Default Do not Play with Fireworks.............

Pictures sent to me from Thunderpumpkin(Wes) the fire was south of the Fisher's Landing Lagoon. The next cove down river. The young man that was responsiable for it is going to get one hell of a bill to pay-off.

Looks like a damn scary sight.

Lame... guess I'll get to see the carnage first hand this weekend. Hopefully nobody's place burned down.

Was out there this weekend, no structures were burned from what I understand. Couple boats that resemble pontoons didnt fair so well. The fire was burning into mid afternoon the next day. Minor flare ups that were put out quickly. Hope that got the guy that was playing with the fireworks

here are some day after photos. One of these docks is ours. The good news is that the toolies are all cleared out so that some work can be done a little easier on the rebuild. I am sorry for the boats that were lost. Rebuilding docks will be just another project for the off season.

crazy! hope everyones stuff is ok.
i havent been to fishers for probably close to 20 years. i was a little kid back then. do people still camp on sandbars down on that part of the river? we used to have tents stoves and tarps all loaded in the boat, launch at fishers at midnight and drive up river with a spotlight to find a sandbar to camp on.

Uh...Not so much. Most have places at Fishers or Pruit City. THe ones who do camp normally do on the airstrip. That would be rough on the sand bars. The mosquitos would carry your tent away. I used to go out late at night in my old boat just out of hgh school. Good thing that there were not any cops out to let me play their digital kazoo.
