Yes thats how they splash someone else's hull, helped roger do it for r&d's dual jet drag boat out of a daytona. After reading back on this kinda sounds like roger splashed a daytona he didn't what we did was take a daytona make it wider [ for the dual jets] and pop a mold off it. lot of work the boat you are taking the mold off has to be flawless

Not a master on this at all, just going by what the 'great one' [roger] had told me over the years. you would prob be better off trying to find the original mold to take one off of. A rigged boat would be a hell of a lot of work all runing gear would come off gauges, cav plates, and so on. the $ amount would not be worth it to me. my .02

The majority of people that 'Splash' hulls in order to build 'Their Own Hulls' do so to make multiple other hulls in order to make money to pay for their costs and, then some ..... Basically, they are Thieves that don't have the knowledge to think something out for themselves and, given that lack of knowledge ..... they Steal from others that have gone through the design, fabrication setup/tooling and production costs to make a boat how it performs the way it does.

That being said, I personally would advise that no 'Hondo' Boat be 'Splashed' as the Owner (the Son of the Founders, who has all Legal Documentation, etc.) has had enough of this Non-Sense and is pursuing Legal Action against others that do not have the Original 'Hondo' Molds, as he does, and are Saying/Selling them as "Hondo's".

You guys can think what you want to, but, James Brendel the son of Peggy and Irv Brendell (and Legal Heir of the Hondo Legacy), the Founders of Hondo has had enough of all the B.S.and will stand behind the True Hondo Name and its quality and not stand for Copies.

James isn't calling anyone "Thief" here ..... I am ...... I, my Group designs and builds Prototypes so I understand ' Splashing'/Theivery ..... The above was my Own Personal Comment .....

You have a problem with James ..... Deal with James, don't distract the subject of this Thread which has to do with Splashing a Hull Design ... You want to talk about James ... Call me and we'll discuss whatever, but I personally don't think these Threads are for venting about deais gone south.

Yepper, and Dale has somewhat of a Legal Problem as he has no Original 'Hondo' Molds and Hondo is a Trademarked Name that he doesn't own, but he/his company continuse to advertise and sell boats under the Hondo Name.

For me personaly, at this point it's up to James and Dale or ..... the Court ..... I'm not involved in this Spat.

No problem here ..... Only thing that I can suggest is that if you want Verification of what your lookn' at is to call James and/or Dale and describe what you looking at and see if it's one out of their molds .......

    James: (925) 325-4967

    Dale: (209)348-9284 or (209) 261-9284

Do you still consider changing the design stealing or thievery?
