    Default Texas Longhorn Tunnel

Has anyone ever heard of this hull before? There is one for sale. I am just wondering if it is a good hull or not. Sorry, I don't have much more info as to the year or length because it is not listed in the ad. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Ron Segni's old boat

What the boat used to be from the MPD website:
"Second To None" is an 18ft California Performance gullwing owned and driven by Ron Segni of San Diego. Power comes from an MPD/DNE built 459 BBC having Holley 750's on a Dart TR, Dart aluminum heads, Crane roller cam, Jessel belt drive & rocker assy, Crower crank, Carrillo rods and JE pistons. This 800+ hp is applied through an MPD built Berkeley 12JG, which is monitored with an MPD/Edelbrock Qwikdata System. Ron has seen 8.99/112 performance and has won NJBA's 9.00-9.49 ET Bracket Championship AND SkiJet Class Championship in 2000, 2001 & 2002. (Ron retired from competition at the end of the 2002 season after 18 years of drag boat racing).

Thanks for the info. That's funny, it's listed as a tunnel. I guess the guy doesn't know what he has.

It's probably not a CP but an 18' Gullwing by Earl Smith which were called Texas Tunnels

The Texas Tunnels were 16 FT Earl Smith boats built in El Paso,TX.Not the same as a 18 FT gullwing that Earl also built.

You are correct Ron. But as you might or might not know, most Earl Smith boat registrations read "Texas Performance" or "Texas Tunnel" as the mfg.

The WindWalker is listed as a "Texas Performance".

When Earl seperated from Youngblood he produced the "Earl Smith Performance 18' Gullwing" under Performance Jet Boat Mfg., but somehow the registrations didn't go under that name.

I would call Joe w/ JP Marine. He bought the boat from Ron at the beginning of the year and went through it. I guess this guy bought it from him and is now selling it.

Joe will be up front with it's condition. From what I understand, it was in great condition.
