Default First day back on the water.....

So today was the first day back on the water.. Everything went well, i metup with (justsquirtin) on the sacramento river and did some cruisin. The motor ran great, a little tuning here and there but i think i may be a bit over carburated (1500 cfm) I wanna try 2 450's and go from there. it didnt take long to burn 22 gallons of fuel.... lol It sputters outa the hole for a second and then catches up with itself. I didnt take it above 3500 rpm and just spent the day trying to tune and break in. Here are some pictures of today.

Phill (mruser) found a garage door on four 50 gallon drums to race me with..

Doug (justsquirtin) doin his thing.. I didnt get a chance to take a picture of his boat.. southwind drag hull ford 460 that thing hauls the mail boys n girls!

Maybe too much gas flow? Do you have a regulator and a fuel pressure gauge? Just a thought.

    Today was a GREAT day..

Yesterday it was running good but there were still some issues.. It didnt feel as fast as it was when i had it running last year.

All the engines i build i time at 8-10 degrees at idle and leave it pretty much looking for throttle response and "time by sound" type thing..

I timed it at 3k today to a full 30 degrees. I tell you what its a totally different boat. My buddy was pulling on me hard before that. Then he started talkin shit about timing lites while i was timing mine..

After timing my motor correctly at full advance he cant leave me, hell he cant even pull on me. His boat last year was doin a hard 68mph on gps. This year he rebuilt the 460, added a droop, diverter and ride plate to his sanger super jet on an AB cut turnin 5k.

Like i said he cant pull on me and im scared to hit full throttle so far with this new motor. Im thinkin 70mph atleast with his new additions.. And the launch with this A2 holy crap.. much better then that C i was running lol. Some fine tuning on the eddies down low in the rpm and i should be good to go. Still think the accelerator pump may be dumpin just a little to much.

quote of the day was " SHIT i need a timing lite!!"

    Im super stoked.

GREG i live less than 5 mintues from discover launch.. I can meetup with you at discovery, But it does get super packed there. and ALOTA cops.

I don't know how well my boat will run or just when I'll have it ready. What is your work schedule like? I'm pretty much open most of the time. During the week it shouldn't be too bad. I can run out to Elk Horn too.
