Thumbs up Pump expert in Bullhead/Havasu area

I've got a 21' 1996 Eliminator, 207 Skier, with a Dominator jet. I have 60 hrs on the Dominator pump, 30 hrs on the rebuilt stock 454 motor, with a 4 bbl Edelbrock carb. My max RPM's are 4200, and top speed is 43 mph. I have a place diverter and I have played around with it and all I can sqeeze out is 43 mph. The boat is in Bullhead City and I want a shop with a good reputation to check the engine/pump to see how I can get a little more top end. If I have to take it down to Havasu, no problem. Any help is appreciated.

With those numbers I would guess that you have about 330HP and an A impeller? Sounds like maybe a fuel problem, unless the pump was not setup right. With those numbers you should see about 50-55mph.

    What size is the Edelbrock?

Maybe some else can give better advice?

Thanks FastRat, I will look for Squrtin Thunder....

MAXXJETT, you are right, 330 HP, A impeller. I don't know the size of carb, only that it is a 4 bbl. I would be very happy with 50-55 mph.

    Thanks for your help

Jet boats love fuel, I would say that you need about 750cfm carb. There is a good chance that the Edelbrock is only a 600cfm. You may want to run the numbers on the carb, to find out.

Is there a visual inspection of the carb that I can do that will tell me what size it is?

There should be numbers stamped on one of the sides.

The number should be stamped on one of the front flanges were the bolt holes are.

I take calls 24/7. I can work around your schedule so we can check out the boat/engine and see what is going on and how we can fix any problems. Give me a call anytime.

BTW-Thank you everyone for the recommendation.

    Thank you
