    Default My 1989 Tahiti 16ft!

First off this is my first jet boat. Not really sure what I have here but for what I paid I figure I came out ok. It is a 1989 Tahiti that was manufactured by Hardin Marine. It does have full stringers in it. I'm told this is not the original engine. It now has a Chevy 350 full roller with a 500 lift cam. It does have a Berkeley 12JE pump on it with a place diverter, not sure if that is a plus or not. I'm told it has the stock impeller in it but with the deal I also got another stocker, a "B", and a "C" impeller. Few questions off the top of my head as for now,

    1. What impeller do you figure is in the pump now? He said it has the "stock impeller" in it. Chevy 350 Roller Rockers and 500 lift cam it will turn 5000 rpm.

    2. Pump maitenance? I see a grease zerk, I pumped quite a bit into it but didn't see anything ooze out anywhere. Keep pumping more in?

    3. Any words of caution with this manufacturer or with the set up? I know it doesn't have a rev limiter. Not too worried, I don't plan on jumping it or hauling the mail in rough water.

Go back and hit edit, then place all pics that are in the [ ] below one another.
I went in and got recircumsized again........I lost 10lbs. & was able to save the lives of 3 children in the burn center.........but it's not my fault they turned out to be dickheads.

For some reason that's not what I imagined when I saw 16' tahiti? As far as the impeller cut goes, I bet if you post your top speed(mph) and rpm, we could come close.

Thanks 4trax for posting them the right way. I just deleted the screwed up ones and we will use yours! As far as top speed I'm not 100% sure. The guy I bought it from swore up and down it does 68mph as it sits on GPS. I have not checked it out for myself yet. I do know I can pull away from jet ski's with it. I think 68mph is kind of a far cry from what it actually does but we will see friday. He gave me a couple extra grates, he said if I ran the "C" cut impeller and this one grate it should be good for a extra 10mph. Again thats just his word, no proof to back that up. Is this boat even capable of hitting that kind of speed? I mean the thing scoots but I can't see it hitting near 80mph by just changing out a few things.

From the factory, it would have two plugs and NO zerk fitting. It was designed to run gear oil not grease. Someone changed your setup.

If you have two plugs, you remove them both and fill one side with 90wt until it starts coming out the other side. Reinstall plugs.
