I take this question as looking for a shade tree mechanic or sidejob bob. You could post what the symptoms you are having are or call GS or JBP where tom is always willing to talk you through anything.

Oh I sure did!!!!! Picked me up a nice little Eliminator. 454 with a dominator pump. Everything was fine when I bought it and ran great. I brought it home and had a guy change out the gasket at the bowl because it looked like it got push out and ripped. After I got it home, I changed the oil and fired it up to check the level. The pump made a wicked high pitched noise so I shut it down. I then turned the water on, fired it up, and it still did it for another 5 seconds or so and then it went away. Well we were on our way to the river so I just decided to ignore it. First day I got it on the water and everything was great with no problems. The next day I was running it a little harder and about halfway up river it started to get a little warm (about 200 degrees). so I brought it down to an idle and the temp came down to 150. The day before it ran at almost 130 all day.The only thing I can see is that it doesn't pump a lot of water PSI into the motor. I have been checking it where it comes through the transom before it goes into the "tee". I have no ball valve or gate valve to regulate the flow. It also seems like the impeler is not hooking up as good as it should out of the hole and it has a leak at the seal where it comes out of the pump so I have to run the bilge every 3-4 hours.

Sweet boat. I kind of wish I had a jet for the river. The wife says no more boats? Hmmmm, I only have five now so whats the big deal. Besides keeping them all running?

Deck is great, makes momma and the kids happy plus didn't have to get a pontoooon boat. Will build another jet in a couple years, still have the go fast itch just have to get that money tree to bloom. Congrats on the Elim. they are great boats, sounds like something got hung in the pump and ate itself when you fired it up. Have GS rebuild it and go have fun!
